Anime Expeditions Beginner Guide
Build a usable starting team, clear early Story stages and avoid wasting Gems, Trait Crystals or upgrade currency.
Anime Expeditions combines unit summoning with wave-based tower defense. Your early goal is to obtain a balanced roster, place an affordable opening unit and invest most of your battle currency into one reliable damage dealer.
Redeem the Launch Codes
Redeem EA+, EA and RELEASE from the three-dot menu before summoning. The rewards provide up to 7,500 Gems and 80 Trait Crystals when every access requirement is met.
Tip: Save Trait Crystals until you own a unit that will remain in your main team.
Complete the Beginner Path
Follow the True Saint Beginner Path objectives and collect every available beginner reward. These quests introduce summoning, unit management and the main progression systems.
Tip: Claim each completed objective immediately so its tickets and resources can be used during the next step.
Use the Beginner Banner
Spend Beginner Banner tickets before committing large amounts of Gems to other banners. Build a roster containing an inexpensive opener, an area-damage unit, a boss damage dealer and either control or support.
Tip: Use the Rates button and watch the Legendary and Mythic pity counters before every large summon session.
Start Story Mode
Place your cheapest dependable unit near a path section where it can attack enemies for a long time. Add a second unit only when the first placement cannot safely handle the incoming wave.
Tip: Corners, bends and overlapping lanes usually provide better coverage than placing directly beside the entrance.
Upgrade Before Overplacing
Concentrate early battle currency on the unit producing most of your damage. Add control, support and extra coverage after your main carry can defeat normal waves without leaking enemies.
Tip: Several low-upgrade units are often weaker than one properly upgraded carry supported by a slow or damage buff.
Level and Evolve Your Core Team
Use Story, Expeditions and other available modes to obtain account resources, unit experience and evolution materials. Invest first in units that appear in most of your successful teams.
Tip: Do not spend rare evolution or reroll materials on temporary units that you plan to replace after the next banner.
Anime Expeditions Unit Tier List
A role-based ranking for Story, Expeditions, Raids and general progression. Team utility, upgrade value and mode coverage matter more than rarity alone.

Use this banner for general roster building and long-term pity progress. Open the Rates panel before summoning to view the current unit pool and drop percentages.
Mini Banner

Anime Expeditions Traits and Rerolls
Compare the strongest damage, speed, range, critical and placement bonuses. Save Trait Crystals for permanent Mythic and Secret units.
Traits are permanent passive bonuses rolled through the Trait station in the Upgrades area. Autoroll can repeat rolls automatically, while the trait history records recent results. Prioritize your main damage carry and stop on a strong high-tier trait instead of spending every Trait Crystal chasing Unbound.
| Trait | Roll Rate | Bonuses | Best For | Reroll Advice |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unbound | 0.1% | +350% damage, -5% SPA, +10% range | A single high-investment boss carry with strong upgrades and abilities | Keep immediately. Chase only on a unit that remains effective with one placement. |
| Primordial | Mythic-tier roll | +35% damage, -15% SPA, +20% range | General DPS units, magic attackers and long-range carries | An excellent stopping point for Story, Expeditions and Raids. |
| Forsaken | Mythic-tier roll | +35% critical chance, +35% critical damage, +10% range | Fast attackers, multi-hit units and high-damage boss killers | Keep on critical-focused carries unless specifically chasing Unbound. |
| Draconic | Mythic-tier roll | +20% damage, +50% damage-over-time damage, -10% placement cost | Damage-over-time units and expensive early placements | Keep on burn or bleed units; reroll on pure attackers only when better options are affordable. |

Best for: General DPS units, magic attackers and long-range carries
Advice: An excellent stopping point for Story, Expeditions and Raids.
Forsaken
Mythic-tier roll+35% critical chance, +35% critical damage, +10% range
Best for: Fast attackers, multi-hit units and high-damage boss killers
Advice: Keep on critical-focused carries unless specifically chasing Unbound.
Draconic
Mythic-tier roll+20% damage, +50% damage-over-time damage, -10% placement cost
Best for: Damage-over-time units and expensive early placements
Advice: Keep on burn or bleed units; reroll on pure attackers only when better options are affordable.
Anime Expeditions Evolution Guide
Evolution changes a unit's form and unlocks stronger attacks or abilities. Build one dependable carry before spreading materials across the roster.
Use the Evolution station in the Upgrades area to inspect each unit's level requirement, evolution items and Yen cost. Evolution recipes are unit-specific, so select the unit first and farm the materials displayed in its recipe rather than collecting unrelated drops.

Required unit level, Shadow-specific evolution materials and the Yen cost displayed at the Evolution station
Result
Higher damage, stronger summoned attackers and an expanded evolved ability set

Unit-specific evolved formBuffing, control, farming or team utility

Required level, evolution materials and currency after the core damage team is complete
Result
Faster clears, stronger carry damage or improved resource generation
Evolve after two dependable damage units can clear the target content consistently.
Anime Expeditions Story, Expeditions and Raids
Start with Story to build your account, enter Expeditions for objective-based missions and prepare a specialized team before farming Raids.
Each mode rewards a different kind of team. Story favors balanced and affordable units, Expeditions require players to protect an objective while managing resources, and Raids demand concentrated boss damage supported by crowd control and early-wave coverage.
Anime Expeditions Gems, Yen and Time Chamber Farming
Use first-clear rewards and quests for high-value currency, then switch to repeatable stages or the Time Chamber based on your current upgrade goal.
Active play provides the fastest account progression because Story stars, quests, Expeditions and Raids award targeted resources. The Time Chamber is best used between active sessions to collect passive rewards without replacing limited daily, weekly or first-clear bonuses.
Gems
Summoning units and reaching banner pity
Best Sources
Story first clears, star objectives, daily and weekly quests, achievements, Beginner Path, Battle Pass and events
Active Farm
Complete unclaimed stars and quests first, then repeat the fastest stage that provides useful secondary rewards.
Spending Rule
Save Gems for a defined banner target instead of using isolated pulls across several banners.
Yen or Gold
Unit progression, evolution costs and other account upgrades
Best Sources
Story clears, quests, mode rewards, Expeditions and passive Time Chamber income
Active Farm
Repeat a short stage that clears consistently and also levels the units used in the main team.
Spending Rule
Upgrade the small group of units used in most teams before investing in collection units.
Trait Crystals and Rerolls
Replacing a unit's passive trait
Best Sources
Story stars, daily and weekly quests, Raid rewards, Battle Pass milestones, events and redemption rewards
Active Farm
Prioritize objectives that directly display Trait Crystal or reroll rewards.
Spending Rule
Use rerolls on permanent Mythic and Secret carries; keep Primordial, Forsaken or a role-matched Draconic roll.
Evolution Materials
Unlocking evolved forms and stronger abilities
Best Sources
Story chapters, Expeditions, Raids, crafting and mode-specific reward shops
Active Farm
Select the unit at the Evolution station, identify its recipe and farm only the stage or mode containing that material.
Spending Rule
Finish the main damage carry before dividing rare materials between several units.
Unit and Player EXP
Raising unit levels, account level and mode unlocks
Best Sources
Story progression, repeatable stages, quests, EXP rewards and the Time Chamber
Active Farm
Push new Story acts until the team reaches a wall, then repeat the fastest stable clear.
Spending Rule
Keep the active Story and Raid team near the level cap before leveling unused units.
